One of the many aspects which differentiates Christchurch
Airport's new integrated terminal is the number of themed air
bridges showcasing the South Island as it has never been seen
before.
Visitors are left in no doubt that they have arrived through the
gateway to the South Island, with southern landscapes and an
explosion of sensory experiences.
The air bridges feature larger-than-life floor-to-ceiling
imagery, accompanied by the scene's distinctive sounds and scents
(yes, really!). Visitors walk from their planes through the air
bridges and many go to the travel information desk to ask how to
get to the place they've just sampled.
Current air bridges include Mackenzie Night Sky, West Coast,
Kaikoura, Abel Tasman, Fiordland, a Canterbury sheep farm,
Mackenzie country and a Marlborough vineyard.
