Summer travel boost

We’re gearing up for a huge summer season ahead! The summer travel season has officially kicked off, and we’re thrilled to see our skies buzzing with services.

Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes, collaborating with our airline partners to provide more travel opportunities for Kiwis and international visitors alike.

This summer, seat capacity on international long haul flights is increasing by a whopping 25% – that’s tens of thousands more seats every week.

Freight capacity is also expanding, as aircraft whisk valuable exports across the skies and bring in your express parcel freight in time for the holidays.

Whether you’re a South Island tourism operator, a fresh food exporter, or just someone in urgent need of a parcel or holiday, you’ll be thrilled to see so many more airlines and services across the board.

Here’s what’s happening...

They're back!

China Southern is back in action, from 27 October operating between four flights a week and daily until 30 March 2025, offering even more options for travel to Asia and beyond.

Cathay Pacific are back from 2 December offering four weekly flights to Hong Kong until February, then three weekly flights in March.

United Airlines returns with three flights per week to San Francisco starting 6 December, perfect for your U.S. travel plans.

More options across the board

Qantas is boosting flights to Melbourne and Brisbane, giving you plenty of choices for Aussie getaways and connecting to their international network. Plus, additional Qantas freight services from Christchurch will help local businesses reach global markets faster than ever.

Jetstar adds more capacity with additional flights to Melbourne and Gold Coast, just in time for the holidays.

Singapore Airlines have increased their services to 10 flights per week, making it easier than ever to explore Asia and beyond.

Air New Zealand continue their strong schedules to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast.

Emirates continue their daily flights to Dubai via Sydney with their iconic A380, connecting you to the world.

Fiji Airways operate their regular services for your tropical escape to Fiji or beyond to their global network.

Auckland capacity is also ramping up

At the end of October we ramped up to 23 flights per day between Christchurch and Auckland. Getting up to see your friends, whānau or favourite gig is now easier than ever.

We’re ready for an exciting summer of travel, and we hope you are too! Whether you’re off to explore Aotearoa or heading somewhere overseas, the sky truly is the limit. ✈️
